I recently purchase a Briel Cadiz ES 62 AF home espresso machine. It
is semi auto in as much you can select the volume of water that will
be despensed through the coffee grinds. It has a steamer wan and you
can also despense hot water through it. It has 3 thermostats, one for
coffee, one for steam, and a third for thermal protection. It has a
nice black and chrome decor and a warming tray on top. $200 machine.
I'm limited in espresso knowledge. It seems to make a decent shot ,
and a nice cafe creama, I don't really like the creama enhanced porta
filter. A single dose 7Gram porta filter.

Has anyone on this news group had experience with this machine.

my briel sintra broke under warranty 3 times. it was replaced by a new one
the first two times, and by a full refund the third. same problem every
time...steam valve would no longer open. no, it wasn't a clogged wand.

i now own a zaffiro.

we've had this problem on several briel lidos (including multiple
units sent on our dime to one customer), and briel is a major PITA to
deal with.

we no longer deal with briel.

Are you asking for external validation for your purchase, or for advice on
something?

Thanks Ken you are correct, just looking for some advise, on how to
use it to get as good a shot as it is capable of producing.

I believe it is the same size pf as other low-end machines (Saeco), though
you should google the group archives (try "briel portafilter" or "briel pf")
to make sure.

Main thing is to hold onto your receipt. The warranty is vested in proof of
purchase from an authorized dealer, not the card (which is really a
marketing thing).
