No it's not - its a low pressure pod system and the output is more like
crema cafe or brewed, depending on how much water you run thru.

Melitta also have a similar "Javapod" system, though I assume the pods are
not compatible.

We've been seeing those senseo machines for the last couple of years
here in Belgium. These low cost, low pressure pod system machines will
only be good for you if you drink light coffee in cappuccino-style
mugs (like most of west-european people do).

Don't even consider if you're used to espresso's or ristretto's, this
machine will only produce semi-transparent coffee

Senseo produces the worst stale-oldcoffee-tasting coffee I've ever had.
